Ann Westley was born in Northants, UK, in 1948. She studied sculpture at The West of England College of Art. In 1970 she won a Gulbenkian Rome Scholarship in sculpture and in 1982, a Gulbenkian Printmaking Prize. She has exhibited her sculpture and prints extensively in the UK and in the USA and Germany. She was a part time fine art lecturer for seventeen years and in 2000, published ‘Relief Printmaking,’ a practical printmaking guide for artists and students in the UK, Australia, USA and China.
In the late 1990's, she produced two commissioned works, a wood panelled mural and an iron and corten steel sculpture for the newly created village of Great Notley, Essex, UK.
Ann moved to Spain in 2002. Her home and studio is in Cútar, a small village near Malaga.
Initially in Spain, Ann made a number of woodcut prints on the press she brought from the UK.
Since 2004 she has focussed entirely upon painting and making small hand crafted books.
In 2018 Ann has produced a series of watercolours of flora and fauna. (click on `recent images´under Watercolours).
